PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE SOUTH EAST REGION'S CONSTITUTION

The regional party needs to make a number of changes to its constitution. Primarily, these are the result of changes made to the English Party's Constitution in July 2009. They relate to the relationship between the party and Liberal Democrat council groups, and came into effect immediately after the General Election. In particular, regional parties have been given the task of 'recognising' Liberal Democrat groups so that they can use the party's name. The majority of the changes to our constitution are in Sections 4 and 6.

South East England Liberal Youth Annual General Meeting Calling Notice

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of South East England Liberal Youth (SELY) will take place on October 23 at the Ratton School, Park Avenue, Eastbourne BN21 2XR between 1020 and 1120. The AGM will be taking place at the same venue as the South East England Liberal Democrats AGM, which can be attended for a price of £10 and starts a 0900.

County Leaders Apology Welcome, But Stop Digging Paul

County Councillor Tim Prater has welcomed an apology from Kent County Council Leader Paul Carter to all staff "who may have felt misled" by a statement on officers bonuses given by past Chief Executive Peter Gilroy.

Kent Lib Dems call for Officer Pay-Off Review

The Liberal Democrats on Kent County Council have tabled a motion for next weeks full Council meeting calling for an urgent review into large severance payments from the Council. The motion comes after reports of another huge pay-off for a Council Officer hit the national and local press.

Trudy Says: Come and Help Spend £10,000!

Residents of all ages and organisations of East Malling, Larkfield and West Malling are being invited to put forward ideas for spending their County Councillor's devolved budget of £10,000 in project applications of up to £2000, and then choose who they think should get the money!
